When not on stage, Carolyn Black-Sotir can be seen and heard on television, film and radio as an actress, journalist, and voice-over artist. For nine years she served as host of Comcast Local Edition on CNN HEADLINE NEWS conducting more than 9,000 interviews.  Known for her keen interviewing skills and versatility, she explored a wide range of topics with an eclectic line up of guests ranging from Homeland Defense Secretary Tom Ridge to Hollywood stars Billy Crystal and Robin Williams.  Prior to her association with Comcast she served as host of Industry Report, which aired on USA Network and the Travel Channel’s Taste for Travel. She continues to be in great demand as a spokesperson in television and film for numerous regional and national clients – Clarion, Raytheon, and the U.S. Postal Service, to name a few.  Currently she hosts two weekly arts television programs--Kaleidoscope and smARTS--as well as numerous PBS specials.

On radio, she has been the “voice” for some of the country’s most prominent corporations and organizations such as National Geographic, National Institutes of Health, and The American Red Cross.  She has served as a media consultant for Booz-Allen & Hamilton and the United States Government, requiring her to travel to all parts of the world as a specialist in media communication.

As a film producer, editor and writer, she is completing work on a documentary about the life and music of Dominick Argento.
